Well, not literally! But we all know that a perfectly polished manicure completes the timeless and elegant bridal look. Whether it is a classic sheer polish or a bolder pop of colour, nail care is a beauty essential for your wedding day.Let our expert bridal manicurist gives you her best tips for a bridal manicure that will give you the confidence to show off your sparkly, timeless token of love.
Tip 1
Maintaining a regular manicure schedule allows your nails to grow strong and healthy and allows your manicurist enough time to achieve the desired shape and length.
Tip 2
Your absolute last manicure should be a day or two before the wedding. Allow nail polish to dry thoroughly prior to leaving the nail salon. Or else you can always opt for shellac or gel manicures.
Tip 3
If you’ve found your perfect shade—we suggest you stock up. One for the salon, one for your wedding day emergency kit and one to take to your honeymoon bag. When you need to fix a chipped nail fast you’ll be happy you spent the extra moolah.
Tip 4
To be picture ready, massage cream into your cuticles and knuckles before your photographer takes close ups of your bouquet or ring for instantly younger looking hands.
Tip 5
If you are having your manicure done before your spray tan, make sure you allow enough time to wash away cuticle oils or moisturisers that may have been applied during the manicure. If having them done after your spray tan, leave a 24-hour window for your tan to fully develop. Also avoid manicures that use scrubs on your hands as this may decrease the longevity and evenness of your spray tan.
Our expert bridal manicurist also recommends getting a manicure especially until the day before the wedding as this will provide the shortest window in which your nail might chip.
